Dr. Sassmannshausen is a specialist in sports medicine. He is a graduate of Indiana University School of Medicine. He completed his General Surgery Internship and his Orthopaedic Residency at the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, New Hampshire. He is Board Certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery.  Dr. Sassmannshausen is a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society and has received numerous academic awards and scholastic honors. His Orthopaedic Sports Medicine Fellowship was completed at the University of Kentucky at Lexington. He is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, the Arthroscopy Association of North America, the Indiana State Medical Association, and the Fort Wayne Medical Society.
